Phoenix Houses of New England, founded in Rhode Island in 1967, is one of the regions premier nonprofit substance abuse treatment agencies, annually serving more than 3,500 individuals at 45 programs and facilities throughout New England. Administered through offices located in Providence, the majority of programs are accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, a nationally recognized standard of excellence.
In Rhode Island, programs provide a broad spectrum of services to adults : medically monitored detoxification, residential and outpatient treatment, education and prevention services, sober living and recovery support for women, temporary shelter for adolescents, and case management for court-involved adolescents at the Rhode Island Juvenile Drug Court.
