Description:

Core services: Permanent Supportive Housing (including special rooms for the handicapped), Crisis Intervention, Shelter Clearinghouse, Counseling, Case Management

Special services: Medical Care, Medical Van, Education, Legal Assistance, Employment Assistance, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Project Safeguard, Protective Travel, Rhode Island Emergency Shelter Information Project, Rhode Island Directory of Human Service Agencies, the Youth Yellow Pages and other specialized Resource Guides.

Crisis Intervention: Emergency shelter, food, clothing, transportation; prescriptions; long-distance contacts.

Counseling: Confidential counseling for substance abuse issues; AIDS counseling; mental health treatment; counseling on family, housing, employment, education and medical issues.

Case Management: A coordinated system of services based on the needs of each client and establishing goals and time frames agreed on by client and social worker.

Outreach: Identifying youth on the streets of downtown Providence who are in crisis or at risk. Provide information, a safe haven, and crisis intervention.

Women will be engaged in Housing First model to minimize length of homelessness
Housing placement is the primary goal
Duration of stay: as long as needed for client to complete goals
Rent is not required
Medications are locked in the staff's office and must be reported
Smoking allowed in designated outdoor areas
Drug/Alcohol free environment
Must utilize case management and follow care plan
Clients are required to save 30% of income
Must complete daily chores
