Description:

BVCAP provides social services for community residents and senior citizens, including case management, education: ESL, GED and testing services, work experience, weatherization programs, lead safe program, food and housing services - Starter Home and Housing Development, Fair Housing, Foreclosure Counseling; Home Buyers and Lead Education; RI HEAP (Rhode Island Heating and Electricity Assistance Program); Youth Success (home visits for pregnant and parenting teens); Unity Center (Homeless and Runaway Teens); Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP): training and placement of senior citizens, 55+, in volunteer assignments which match their interests and skills; Project Renew (program for women street workers)

BVCAP opened a drop-in resource and referral center for anyone in the Blackstone Valley community. The agency also has Case Managers available to meet with anyone interested in what services available to them in the community.

Healthy Families America (HFA)
BVCAP’s Healthy Families America is a long term family visiting program for expectant mothers or families with children under three months of age. It is meant to promote positive growth and development in children while building the strengths of their families and protective factors.

Family Advocacy Center - assisting clients in applying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Along with this assistance, case managers will assess the client's situation and provide referrals to other community resources.
